The most sophisticated composition in the Metz product families to date, the Metz Primus, now has a new design and a new dimension. Optically, the Metz Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R with a large 140 cm diagonal screen size, appears very refined with the highest quality materials made of glass, wood and metal. The technical configuration also sets new standards. 200 Hz technology, brilliant HD screen resolution, an integrated HDTV tuner and LED backlight with Local Area Dimming ensure perfect picture display down to the tiniest detail. The optically separated sound module with an especially effective bass reflex system completes the new home theatre experience. Even the integrated digital recorder was improved once again. 500 GB of storage space means more than enough recording capacity for enjoying television without any time constraints.

Stylish design with different variations

The Linus 37 is equipped with the most modern LCD technology. It impresses with its outstanding picture quality and the full-bodied sound. The combination of mecavision HD+ and 100 hertz technology guarantees a perfect representation of colour and motion. Brilliant, pure, full colour tones are thus achieved while ensuring motion display that is as natural as possible. Scrolling text is outstandingly clear and easy to read. The sharpness of the picture is maintained, even with quick camera or object movements. Thanks to the 24p mode in particular, flowing, smooth display is achieved, even with movies.
The sound quality produced by a Linus also satisfies the highest demands. The SRS WOW® sound system elaborately processes the sound signals and relays them to the four integrated speakers in the 2-way bass reflex system. So that the Linus can be used as the centre of a home cinema, the Metz Sound System can be connected to assure the user of a world-class, easy to use surround sound experience.

Enjoy new freedom thanks to the timeshift function

With its clear style, the Primus 55 FHDTV 200 R twin meets the highest aesthetic demands. The clear design is emphasised by a double-sided, anti-reflective contrast filter screen, which makes the TV picture of the Metz Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R even more appealing. The cube is extremely impressive, with the highest quality feel and material. The optically separated sound module gives the television a very modern design. Depending on your personal taste, the Primus can be a free-standing unit in the room on an exquisite floor stand, or it can be placed on a support with the table base. 
The wall solution, with or without a sound module, is an additional optical variation of the Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R. The Primus can be reduced entirely to its picture functions. The audio module was deliberately waived to enable use of a high-quality, external hi-fi or Surround Sound system.

New dimensions of picture quality with 200 Hz and LED backlight

Regardless of whether you want to connect a Blu-ray player or a notebook, the Linus 37 is optimally prepared for all external input devices. Versatile digital and analogue interfaces are ready for any input: three HDMI sockets are available for the best digital picture quality. In addition, a DVI-I interface allows the television to receive analogue or digital computer signals. Furthermore a variety of connection possibilities is provided that have been tried and tested in the analogue world. The YUV input sockets and three EURO/AV sockets can be used to connect audio and video peripherals. The Linus can be connected via a special interface with the components of the new networked home, Metz mecaHome+, at any time.

Metz operating menu – clearly structured and award-winning

The Metz Primus 55 FHDTV 200 R opens up new dimensions of picture quality. The set makes use of various advanced technologies. Its irresistibly sharp picture, with full HD screen resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), which is especially effective on its impressive 140 cm screen diagonal, is stunning. The integrated, high-definition television (HDTV) really comes into its own in a very impressive way via cable (DVB-S2 Twin can be retrofitted for satellite reception) on its large screen. Thanks to the 200 hertz technology with scanning backlight and mecavisionHD+ technology, fast motion sequences are smooth and extremely sharp and brilliant. The black levels are particularly intensive and contrasts are displayed even better, due to the LED backlight technology with Local Area Dimming. With this technology, the entire area of the screen is not dimmed, rather individual LED light source areas are controlled automatically and independently of each other. This reduces the television’s energy consumption and clearly increases the energy efficiency.

Excellent sound quality

It is not only the sound quality of the Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R which is exciting; the sound reproduction of the separate sound module is also extraordinary.  The clean, noise-free reproduction of bass and treble frequencies is the merit of the SRS WOW® sound system. You can enjoy the high-quality sound via the two-way bass reflex system of the Primus or via headphones. For even more sound, surround fans can connect the multi-channel sound (e.g., 5.1 Dolby Digital) of the TV set, which is provided via the digital audio output (optical), to the decoder of the stereo system. Ingenious: When connecting the TV set to a surround system, the high-quality speakers of the Primus can be used as the centre speaker.

The clearly structured user interface of the Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R is compelling. The user-friendly menus make use of precisely defined, highly legible fonts. You can thus enjoy the categorised Teletext and the Metz Tri-Star menu, whose operating scope can be reduced in three stages, depending on whether the user wants to go into the technical details or concentrate on basic functions.
In addition, there are sensor fields on the set for direct control which respond to the lightest touch. A highly legible OLED plain-text display (not with the wall solution) for the station name and time and a high-quality remote control made of brushed aluminium make the extensive range of features of a Primus perfect down to the last detail.

An unchanging characteristic: connectivity

First of all, the Metz Primus 55 FHDTV 200 twin R features integrated analogue and digital tuners for cable and antenna and the option to upgrade to satellite reception (DVB-S2). Secondly, two externally-accessible input slots for CA modules enable reception of various pay TV channels. No less than three HDMI sockets are available for digital picture transmission. Moreover, a DVI-I interface enables you to establish an analogue or digital connection between the TV set and a computer. Extremely practical: the JPEG photograph display can be used via the USB interface in order to show photographs in an appealing environment. Of course, a Metz also offers the various proven interfaces with the analogue world. Audio and YUV input sockets, as well as three Euro/AV sockets, can be used to connect audio and video peripherals. Analogue side connections have naturally also been take into account, e.g. for connecting camcorders and headphones. The interface for the mecaHome+ system makes it possible to use the Primus an information and switching centre for the home at any time.
