The interplay between energy-efficient LED picture technology, sophisticated 200Hz technology and mecavision HD+ technology meets the highest demands in terms of picture quality. The colour display impresses with its vibrancy and rich contrast levels. Outstandingly sharp cable or satellite HDTV pictures can be received via the two integrated triple tuners (DVB-T/-C/-S2) with no need for an additional set-top box. And for home cinema fans, the new Aurus models deliver first-class 3D enjoyment. Metz 3D technology is based on circular polarisation and, in conjunction with feather-light Metz passive 3D glasses, creates an impressive 3D televisual experience. Die-hard 3D fans will also be thrilled watching 2D films on the new Aurus models. It’s not only the picture quality of the Metz Aurus that excites enthusiasm, but also its exceptional sound reproduction. The integrated two-way bass reflex speaker system delivers outstanding acoustics that are further enhanced by the mecaSoundpro sound system. Metz TV as the hub of your home network

The Metz Media System turns the new Aurus models into the central element in your home network. The media player allows digital transfer of film, photo and music files between the television and any number of other digital components in your network. The Aurus can use an Ethernet connection to access files stored on other digital devices such as notebooks, PCs and network hard drives (NAS), and play archived films, pictures or music through the television. In addition to the extensive streaming functions, the Metz Media System also supports HbbTV, which provides exciting additional information on the current programme. Content from the TV channels’ media libraries is also available directly to the viewer via the Aurus. Programmes that have been missed can still be watched days later via the television.

Integrated digital recorder and USB recording

The recording options opened up by the Metz Aurus models are diverse. The integrated 750GB digital recorder is particularly convenient. A 750GB memory provides recording capacity of up to 150 hours in HDTV quality and up to 750 hours in traditional SDTV quality, even if the television is on stand-by or another channel is playing. Operation is child’s play thanks to the standard Metz user menu. The USB recording function permits direct recording to external USB storage devices should you wish to extend archiving times or store TV content for an extended period of time.

Connections for every requirement

The new Aurus models offer a wide range of versatile connection options on the rear and side of the device. There are four HDMI sockets (one on the side and three on the back) available for digital picture transmission. Your photo, audio and video files can be viewed quickly and easily using the two USB connections (one on the side and one on the back). There are also two external CI+ and HD+ compatible slide-in slots for CA modules. A digital input and output lets you connect peripheral digital audio devices. Furthermore, two analogue sources can be connected via the two Euro/AV ports.

Metz user menu – effortlessly superior

The Aurus models’ clearly-structured user interface is also impressive. Precise, easy-to-read text is complemented by a user-friendly layout. The Metz Tri-Star menu, which is scalable by two levels, is especially convenient; allowing you free scope to decide whether to go into more technical detail or simply concentrate on the basic functions. There are also sensor fields on the device itself allowing local control that is responsive to even the lightest touch. An OLED text display beneath the screen area can be used to display the current time or channel. A high-quality, well-designed remote control provides the perfect finishing touch to the Aurus’s extensive equipment package.
